Univ. of Denver psychology, biology faculty team up to study brain injuries

Researchers at the University of Denver are assessing brain injuries resulting from falls in older adults, looking for ways to mitigate the damages. Their study shows that differences in age-related recovery may be linked to a critical antioxidant in the brain, glutathione, which optimizes recovery in younger adults. The goal is to test glutathione as a nutritional supplement people can take, with the goal of reducing the severity of adult brain injury.
